My piece "Far From Fields" is coming along nicely, it has a fantasy themed feel much like "A Silver Ocean Storm" For this piece I wanted to put the main focus on my painting techniques and style while expanding depth and scale. I'm really excited about this one, I haven't done something like this in a while & its nice taking a step back from what I usually do. Next month my other piece "Anxietas Architectra" will be completed as well. A piece visualizing in depth anxiety & what it feels like when you are in it. Taylor's book release date has been pushed back as well, Its looking like it will be available at the end of February or the beginning of March.
Check back soon for "Far From Fields" and keep an eye on the "Timeline" section for all upcoming pieces

Welcome to the new ascendingstorm.com!
I decided to go ahead and upload the completely redesigned website early. There are many new categories to explore, and many older ones that have been sharpened up and polished. Some pieces in the 'Painting' and 'Scratchboard' sections have detailed descriptions for the images, something I have wanted to include here on the site for a long time. The 'Sketches' section has been completely redone, I feel that it gives a different take on the creation process of my art - so I think its an important aspect to see. The biggest addition to this website is the new 'Books' section my wife & I are both in collaboration with. 2012 will be a year of writing for Taylor and releasing new material here on the site, along with my illustrations included in the stories. We are both very excited to finally be able to do this together, and I am personally honored to work with such an amazing story teller - her books are phenomenal. Keep an eye out for the release of her current book "DROHLO" Part 1 which will be finished at the end of January. The 'Video' section will provide all my recent and future walkthroughs of digital painting, a link to my youtube account is also provided. The 'Timeline' section, quite possibly my favorite section just because its a chronologically organized list of my work since 2005 - it keeps me wanting to fill up the list for every new year. And finally the 'About' section, a list of various achievements artistically from around the web, will be updated with each new experience. I have recently been interviewed by Somethingwelike.com, they will have my interview available on the 31st, and posted here as well.
I'm looking forward to making a lot of new paintings this year, again I will be pushing myself even further. Taylor & I are geared up for a lot of new creations. Thanks to everyone's support of my work in 2011!
See you soon & take a look around.
-Jeff
